Why We Created Tæsti

Every woman knows the feeling. You're out with friends, having a great time, but there's always that voice in the back of your mind. Did I leave my drink unattended? Should I get a new one? Can I really relax?

We created Tæsti because we believe you shouldn't have to choose between having fun and feeling safe. Going out should be about joy, connection, and living fully—not constant vigilance and fear.

In the U.S., 423,020 people experience sexual violence each year, and over half are ages 18-34.

Research shows that 1 in 9 women report having their drink spiked. That means millions of women have experienced this violation. But awareness and preparation can change that.

We designed something different: a solution that's beautiful enough to wear every day, discreet enough to use anywhere, and powerful enough to give you real peace of mind. Because safety shouldn't be ugly, obvious, or inconvenient.

RAINN operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE), provides resources for survivors, and works to improve public policy and programs. In 2024 alone, RAINN helped over 460,000 survivors.

Meet the Founder

Sahasra Bangaru

I created Tæsti after watching too many friends compromise their freedom for safety. As a student, I saw firsthand how women's experiences of nightlife are fundamentally different—and fundamentally unfair.

I believe in solving problems at their root, but until we achieve that systemic change, women deserve practical tools that don't treat safety as our sole responsibility. Tæsti is my contribution to that in-between space: beautiful, effective, and unapologetic.

This started as a personal project. Now it's a mission to help women everywhere design the lives they deserve.
